Counter-Strike, a Half-Life modification, is the world's #1 tactical first-person shooter online game where you can engage in an incredibly realistic brand of terrorist warfare. In this wildly popular team-based environment, join the terrorist or counter-terrorist team to complete strategic missions. The teams are pit against each other in a series of rounds. Each round is won by completing the mission objective or eliminating the opposing force.
Though initially armed with basic equipment, you can buy more equipment, such as custom maps. Once a round has ended, if you survive, you’ll retain your equipment for use in the next round; if you’re killed, you’ll move on, but only with the basic equipment.
In Counter-Strike, monetary bonuses are awarded for winning a round, losing a round, killing an enemy, being the first to instruct a hostage to follow, rescuing a hostage or planting the bomb. The scoreboard displays each team's score and player statistics.
If you’re killed, you become a "spectator" for the duration of the round; you can’t change your names until you spawn again; you can’t send or receive text chats from live players; and, though voice chat can be received from live players, you can’t send them.
