Though initially armed with basic equipment, you can buy more equipment, such as custom maps. Once a round has ended, if you survive, you’ll retain your equipment for use in the next round; if you’re killed, you’ll move on, but only with the basic equipment.
In Counter-Strike, monetary bonuses are awarded for winning a round, losing a round, killing an enemy, being the first to instruct a hostage to follow, rescuing a hostage or planting the bomb. The scoreboard displays each team's score and player statistics.
If you’re killed, you become a "spectator" for the duration of the round; you can’t change your names until you spawn again; you can’t send or receive text chats from live players; and, though voice chat can be received from live players, you can’t send them.
